Hello peeps,
Haven't written on this wall in ages...not sure why i'm writing
Ithink it's coz i'm studying again in the lib... kina brings back memories of when I first started blogging- in school while studying in the lib
So many things have happened since the last time I was here...over a yr ago
God has been so faithful to me and all those around me
My one friend is engaged, another just got her green card, one passed all her boards and is now a pharmacist, one graduated from her masters, another got her work permit at the last minute! etc
God has been faithful to my family too...I am grateful
And even in my life, God had seen me through 2 board exams that i've passed, another is coming up and I know He is able
I am still looking up to Him to perfect all that concerns me
Over these months I've met so many interesting pple...and "potentials" too!
...even though some of them never made it to "kinetic" hehe
Oh, and my sewing has brought me so much joy!
I love that I can just think it up and create it
my most satisfaction is when I sew for my friends and they just love it!
I shld put up a few pictures
Over the past months I have also loved, been hurt, moved on, circled, cried, laughed, wished... and so many emotions
I will keep the details to my anonymous blog :)
Sometimes I wish I could take a few things back, but I never would have known, right?
Now I'm considering loving again...
I wonder if it is a bad idea given what I had to go through
But I am stronger than what most pple know and I surprise myself too
I know God has got my back though and He will chase any "wolf" far from me before I allow myself go
... the thought/possibility of moving to naija keeps crossing my mind every so often nowadays
I know I want to go home and serve... we'll see what God has in store after that
I also have a lot on my plate now: exams, applying, graduation etc
It is well
Ok, having been as vague as possible, I will now end this entry and go back to studying
...Q: do you believe in true love?

Happy New Year!!!
Wow!
Can't believe this is my 1st post this year!
I've really been slacking o
anyways, it feels good to be writing again
Not that I have anything in particular to write about
But lets see where this rambling gets us
So I've been busy a lot lately with school
Writing my 1st board exam in about a month, yikes!
Its exciting that I'm making progress in school...and also exciting that i'll be done sooner than later!
So my schedule is a 6 day schedule where my day starts around 8/9 and ends around 10pm
I take Sundays off so that I can have something to look forward to!
...and also so that I can go to the mall!
I did something exciting today!
I have 3 projects I want to work on this year...ok, maybe 4
1 of them is to learn how to ride a bike...thats for the summer! can't wait
(next year, i'll learn how to swim!)
The other 3 are more of my hobbies...that I want to get a formal education on
One of them is tailoring...almost got started with that last year but the class got cancelled as they didn't have enough students enrolled...so I had to go return my sewing machine...but not until I'd made a dress from a pattern!
(i won't even wear that dress to sleep...might have nigthmares!)
But trust Momsy now, once I told her I enrolled in sewing classes, she sent like 4 material to me to practice with! I have since taken them to the tailors and made outfits with them!
The second hobby I want to get trained in is photography!
i've been loving that since high school...I was one of the few people that owned a camera then, and my physics teacher, who used to "wash" the films for us always told me how well I took pictures...maybe he was being nice...but i've loved the idea of having a dark room since then to "wash" my own pictures...but we are now in the age of digital photography...so i'll blend in
The 3rd, which is the one i'm starting a class in is one I just within the past few years develop a growing passion for
I'm so excited! I can't wait to start!
Classes begin next month! Its kina price...couple of thousands...but i know it'll pay off!
So that class an my upcoming trip to Naija is what has been keeping me motivated!
I can't wait...especially the Naija trip!
Haven't been home in 7 yrs!
Told you i'd find something tangible to talk about amidst the rambling
...off to my books I go again!
ciao!

A Foolish Mistake
So I went to my first game ever last night
It was the Heat vs Wizards game...and it was awesome
Yeah, the Miami Heats lost but my experience was beautiful
Nothing prepared me for the sight as I entered the court from the VIP lounge
yeah, VIP
My friend's childhood friend just started playing for the Heats
So my friend gets about 3 VIP tickets per game
We drove through the traffic of cars and people heading to the game
and made our way to the back of the American Airlines Arena
where all the players park thier cars
Then we were ushered into the lounge after a minor security check
That was beautiful in itself
But the breath-taking part was walking through that passage where the players come onto the court from...
It was so unexpected
Coming from all the dim light of the lounge and into this huge court with flood lights as bright as day
and then walking behind the players to get to our seat
*sigh*
We had a great view from the Sec 109 we were seated and I quickly looked for my favorite player- Shaq
He was there, in all his glory
He took off his jumpers and got on the field, he was playing the 1st half
I learnt a lot during the game to the embarassment of my host...lol
Now I know why they let the opposite team take free shots...its because the other team has "offended" someone ...lol
During half time, we headed to the VIP lounge and I'm sure many people there were famous
Didn't recognise any though hehe
Headed back to the court to watch the second half
Some crazy fan that was painted in what looked like blood (to represent the Heat, I suppose) was charging to the front but he was quickly apprehended and taken away
The game ended with the Heat losing to the Wizards, but it was ok, I still love them anyways
We headed back to the lounge and who do we see?
Jammie Foxx
He looked a lot skinnier in person
I went up to him, said hello, after fighting to the army of girls that were carressing him
I asked for a picture and he obliged...so we did
Moving on, we headed to the parking lot
My friend wanted to sign some autographs...
We gave the Valet guy our ticket and he brought our car...a far cry from the other cars in the garage...but who cared? lol
Joel Anthony, my friends friend came out first
He was looking all sharp in his grey suit
Exchanged pleasantries, took a pic and was chit chatting
Then came Earl Barron
I have met tall people...but dang....that guy was Tall!
He was walking towards us so when he got close to us
My friend approached him for an autograph
He obliged and then I asked for a picture
It was a lovely picture...we look so cute together...lol
He stayed on for a second and then I said bye...and half ran, half walked away...lol
So my friend was like I should have asked for his number
really? Funny thing is it didn't even cross my mind
Am I a slacker? or am I just plain slow?...lol
I didn't want to be a groupie or embarass Joel
But thinking back now, that would not have been a bad connection to have!
bite me!!!
The other players began to filter out and we got more autographs and pictures
Then came Shaq...he was packing face men!
All of them were, they lost the game but Shaq's face coulda killed
but me I needed my picture...crap!
My friend asked him for his autograph, he obliged and then I asked to get a picture
Everyone was so nervous...we couldn't find the damned camera!
We eventually did and I got my picture
Wished it was a better shot but the one I got will do just fine
We got to see thier wives and kids too
Our mission being accomplished, we drove home
All feeling very star-stricken...lol
One thing I know for sure is that Sagamu did not prepare me for a night like yesterday!
NB: Pics will be on FB soon!

Clinic Today
Hello guys,
How have you all been?
Its been such a while since I wrote on this thing
But I feel it might be helpful for me to write today
I had my first Clinic in Miami today
He was not my first patient, I've had a couple in Dom
But he was my first patient here...and the one with the saddest case
He a young handsome hispanic male
(I really am not allowed to disclose much...HIPAA)
When my partner and I started interviewing him
He said he was brought in by his step son because he was becoming too forgetful
But he was not clear as to how and when it started
Anyway, it turned out he had HIV encaphalopathy
That means his disease had progressed to a stage where it was now messing with his brain cells
He also had HSV-II ( Herpes Simplex Virus-2)
He was just like any other regular guy
Had a happy healthy family
Had moved to FL at the age of 18 to get a better life, etc
He was very optimistic though
He kept saying he was leaving the hospital soon that he was only waiting for his insurance to pay up so that he could go back home
But the truth people, is that he's never going home again!
He will remain in a nursing home for the rest of his life
Because he now has demensia and retrograde anmnesia
He will not rememeber to take his meds, or use the bathroom by himself, etc
So there you have it people...
Pls, pls, pls....its not worth it
be health smart...HIV no dey show for face!
k, i feel much better
Other stuvs are going on but i'll have to yarn y'all later
BTW, my landlady is a b****!

America We Hail Thee
Chai...
So I told you guys there's a hurricane Dean coming our way
Here's an email they sent to us in school:
The American Embassy will be sending a plane to pick up any American citizen that might want to leave the Island today
Please call the office of student affairs if you want to be on this flight
Ha! so what happens to the remaining people that are not US citizens?
How come the Nigerian embassy is not doing the same thing?
Don't we matter? Who is looking out for us?
You gotta love America men!
I don't care what anyone says...they always look out for thier own
No matter where you are in the world, if you register with the US embassy in that area
They will always get you out of any quanta
So pple, I need your prayer once again
Potbelly just called me now and asked if I wanted to be on that flight
I told him I'll stay...
I am beginning to get concerned!
I've gone to get my supplies and I will be staying in my apartment with Inem
She's a Naija girl that stays at the unit above me
We are expected to be locked in for 3 days
We might lose power, phone and internet
I believe God will be here with us
But you can call this number at NJ for more info during the storm: 732 978 5300
Ajala also has the email address...
my bro doesn't know coz I don't want my mom to know
my dad knows though
Later guys...
I will be back! amen!!!

Just To Testify
I just wanted to testify that God is good
He is able to make everything alright
He is so faithful, even in my unfaithfulness
When you feel like you're at your lowest
That is when God will pick you up
And put you on His shoulder
And then He makes everything ok
After my post yesterday, I still could not study
So I kept playing solitaire...lol
Then potbelly called me and I told him what crappy day I was having
He decided to come over so that we could go over questions like we normally do before the exam
He came around 7 and we studied till about 10:30-11pm
Then I studied some more till 12midnight
I prayed and went to bed
Woke up and reviewed some more
I am just pleased to tell you that ALL that we studied was on the exam today!
Is that not God?
God allowed me to do in one day what other have been doing in one week!
I honestly think God is very partial to me...lol
as in He's always looking out for me
no matter how "prodigal" I go on Him...lol
So I have one more to go
This semester I had 10 exams and 3 papers
And the last one is next week!
Can't wait...I know God's grace will be sufficient for me on that one too!
On other interesting notes,
We have a hurricane coming our way!
It's called Hurricane Dean...and they say it should be here by friday
It has actually started raining!
We are supposed to find a buddy and stock up on food and water, etc
It's kina exciting, kina scary
I just don't want my mom to find out coz she'll freak out!...lol
The last time she came to visit, the night she arrived there was an earthquake!
She was like "oya, we're going home"...lol
my mom...my darling mom
Anyway, I'm off to bed now...didn't get much sleep last night
And thanks for your concerns, everyone that was concerned and called me yesterday
May God visit you when you're down too...amen!

One of those days
I'm so upset right now
I feel like crying, maybe I'm crying
It's just one of those days when everything seems to be coming together at the same time
Its school
Its family
Its finances
Its...life!
I'd really like to expand but this is a public blog
I've been having this constant non stop headache for the past couple of days
and no matter what I take its still lingering
I'm unhappy because the person I love most in this world is unhappy
And the person causing the unhappiness is my other most favorite person in this world
I just wish everything will work out
and we can all stop making each other unhappy:(
The other thing that's making me unhappy is that someone just requested another large sum of money from me
If I don't find it soon, I'll lose something that I've been working on for a while
And I don't have the money right now
And I'm worried as to where I'll get it
Then I have a major exam tomorrow that I feel I'll never be ready for
And nothing stresses my out more than school
I feel that is the only thing in my life I really have control over
(by God's grace)
And when I feel I'm loosing grip of it, I freak out!
Well, I am beginning to freak out right now
And this darn headache won't go away!
arrggghhhh!!!!!
